FOR YOUR SPIRIT ~

FOR YOUR SPIRIT ~

Here is a collection of things for your soul.

Take what you need, share what you love!

MY SUNDAY YOGA CLASS

The lovely lady that teaches the yoga class I join on Sunday morning, always reads a poem at the end of the practice. As my breath stills and my body rests, I close my eyes and surrender to the words, believing the universe delivers exactly what I need. These poems soothe the week's chaos, grounding me, empowering me and preparing me for a new beginning, whole and healed.

I take in this moment of pure joy. While my spirit heals my mind is calm, I don’t try to hold on to the words, to make this moment last longer than what is supposed to last. I let the words flow, I just let them do what they have to do.

Find powerful words in your life. Let them move you. And then share them.

HERE IS FOR YOU, A COLLECTION OF POEMS AND QUOTES FROM MY SUNDAY YOGA CLASS

  • "We have a tendency to think in terms of doing and not in terms of being. We think that when we are not doing anything, we are wasting our time. But that is not true. Our time is first of all for us to be.

To be what? To be alive, to be peaceful, to be joyful, to be loving. And that is what the world needs most."

  • If only we could see the power in rest. If only we could attach to it the worth it so deserves. If only we could open our minds to the idea that everything in nature has its time to rise and its time to descend. That each of these acts is as important as the other. And that is exactly as it must be. If only the ability to allow our bodies space to heal was awarded the same badge of honor given to busyness and stress in life. If only we could realize, resting is very much doing.

  • Never be afraid to let someone know, if they brightened the room they just walked into. Or if something they said, inspired you to change. Never be embarrassed to share  a compliment with a stranger and don’t ever fall into the trap of believing that the people you love know that. Say it. Always say it. Your words may land a little awkwardly at first but in the dark of the night those seeds will plant themselves into someone’s mental garden and start to bloom. Sow seeds, wherever you go.
