CHICKPEAS HUMMUS
Try it on pita chips, toasted bread or with your favorite vegetables! Great to be taken at a party as it’s literally ready in minutes, it’s cheap to make and it’s so much better than the store bought one!
INGREDIENTS
-1 can of garbanzo beans
-2tbsp garbanzo water from the can
-3 tbsp tahini (I like the one sold in the squeezable bottle)
-1 clove of garlic, minced
-3tbsp EV Olive oil
-juice of half lemon
-toppings of choice (spices, seeds….)
-salt to taste
PROCESS
-drain the chickpeas form their water, but save 2tbsp of it
-put chickpeas and their water in a food processor with garlic and tahini and process at high speed until smooth
-add olive oil and lemon juice
-add salt to taste
-process until smooth and creamy. You can adjust the consistency adding chickpeas water.
Transfer your hummus in an airtight container
-top it with a drizzle of EV olive oil and your topping of choice (I like paprika and sesame seeds).
-refrigerate until ready to enjoy!
Get creative flavoring your hummus with roasted peppers, olives, roasted eggplant or sun-dried tomatoes. Always adjust the consistency and add your extra ingredients in small quantities to balance the flavors. Have fun!
